Control Systems Company History
Company was founded in 1972 and specialized
in the design and manufacture of marine burners and
control systems for oil tankers and similarly large
vessels. These systems were primarily employed in the
retrofit of existing ships, which was an exceedingly
active business in the mid-1970’s.
In 1974, Control Systems Company expanded
into the shore side industrial and utility power generation
markets, gaining entry into and building its reputation
within these industries by way of its patented High-Energy
Spark Igniters and specially designed 12-joule Power
Supplies. Both of these devices last significantly longer
than the competition’s products, and are now used
widely throughout the USA.
In adapting to the marketplace
of the mid-1980’s, Control Systems Company developed,
and subsequently patented, our highly reliable Smokeless
Oil Lighters, which are compatible with any existing
fossil fuel-fired boiler. Control Systems Company has
successfully installed both lighters and controls on
various types of boilers at numerous utilities since
In the 1990’s, to
become more responsive to customer needs, Control
Systems Company expanded its scope of equipment
to include combustion systems, gas turbines, duplication
of parts, obsolete parts, and reverse engineering.
Equipment includes ignitor spark rod tips, ignitor assemblies,
power supplies, cables, burner tip components, and all
fuel delivery parts. Control Systems Company
supplies a complete line of products for the utility,
industrial, and marine markets on a national basis.
As we look to the future, our Research & Development
Department is addressing the problems presented by scanners,
fiber optic applications, and peak power requirements.
